Ever since discovering Mark Bittman’s super-simple recipe for No Knead Bread, I haven’t touched my bread maker. You just can’t beat the results of this simple recipe. The recipe is so simple that once you’ve made it once, all you need to remember is the basic proportions and time.
To help myself remember both, I made the Bread Spoon: a simple tool that helps you to remember the recipe and quickly assemble the dough:
- The spoon is tailored to the required quantities for yeast (1/4 tsp) and salt (1-1/4 tsp)
- The proportions for all ingredients are etched into one side of the handle
- The proofing and cooking times are etched into the other side
